CYBERPRO TRAIN
elevating CYBERsecurity PROfessionals by critical infrastructure cybersecurity TRAINing professionals
The CyberPro Train project addresses the EU’s cybersecurity skills gap by providing specialized training for SMEs and public administrations, aligned with EU directives. It features multi-language courses, bootcamps, and a Digital Handbook to enhance education, preparedness, and resilience across sectors.
Work Packages
What will we accomplish!
Project management in the CyberPro Train project, overseen by Fondazione E. Amaldi (FEA) for a duration of 36 months, focuses on effective coordination and resource management to achieve project objectives. This work package consists of regular General Assembly meetings for decision-making and risk management, as well as ongoing internal communication to facilitate collaboration among partners.
Key activities include ensuring compliance with timelines and set goals, producing periodic reports for the European Commission, and implementing a Data Management Plan to uphold data quality and security standards. Additionally, a Quality Assurance Plan will be developed to monitor project performance and assess impact, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the delivery of successful outcomes.
WP2, led by S2Grupo, focuses on Context Analysis and Mapping to identify and address the cybersecurity training needs of SMEs and public administrations in Europe. The primary objectives include mapping existing training courses and bootcamps on specific cybersecurity topics and analyzing national cybersecurity needs in collaboration with National Cybersecurity Centers (NCCs).
The main activities involve engaging with NCCs to compile a comprehensive overview of training offerings, developing a standardized template for assessing these against identified needs, and producing a detailed report on the findings. Additionally, this WP emphasizes managing relationships with public administrations to ensure the involvement of civil servants in training initiatives, leveraging established partnerships to facilitate effective communication and enhance the project’s overall impact.
WP3, led by TIM, focuses on the development and delivery of training courses in cybersecurity across three EU countries: Italy, Spain, and Greece. The primary objectives include planning and implementing both synchronous and asynchronous courses, defining certification standards, and managing the course delivery platform.
The most important activities involve the detailed planning of synchronous courses, ensuring the involvement of experienced trainers, and customizing the online learning environment to support diverse course formats. Additionally, the WP emphasizes the translation of training materials and courses into ten EU languages to enhance accessibility. Overall, WP3 aims to provide high-quality, standardized training that meets the specific needs of participants in the cybersecurity domain.
WP4, led by KIM Bcn, is dedicated to the planning and implementation of bootcamps focused on cybersecurity in Italy, Spain, and Greece. The objectives include developing an intensive training format that combines in-person sessions and hands-on workshops, creating networking opportunities among startups, SMEs, and public administration professionals.
Each bootcamp will consist of three days targeting startups and SMEs, followed by two days aimed at public administration, featuring expert-led presentations and practical workshops. Facilities provided by TIM, S2Grupo, and INNOHIVE will host the bootcamps, ensuring a stimulating environment for participants to gain insights into innovative technologies. Key deliverables include a Bootcamp Handbook outlining the planning and implementation processes, along with a performance report assessing the effectiveness of the bootcamps, which will include participant feedback and topics covered.
WP5, led by Promoda, focuses on providing Tour On-the-job training opportunities in Italy, Spain, and Greece. The objectives include defining and managing these training projects to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, utilizing a blended learning approach that combines face-to-face and distance learning. Participants will engage in visits to innovative companies and competence centers, enhancing their hands-on experience.
Specific activities include a full immersion at TIM Innovation Lab in Rome, where participants will explore advanced technological trends and new-generation digital services, along with visits to cybersecurity centers in Spain and Greece for hands-on demonstrations and workshops. Each training session is designed to include 10 hours of individual study, followed by two days of site visits, and culminates in a final report to solidify the learning experience. The program also includes criteria for merit-based scholarships to support participants in their travels.
WP6 of the CyberPro Train project enables the development of the CyberPro Train Digital Handbook and Guidelines, led by TESEAS. Its primary objectives are to collect feedback from participants and mentors throughout the training programme and to create a comprehensive digital handbook that compiles best practices, guidelines, and training opportunities in cybersecurity.
The working effort includes three key tasks: collecting feedback to enhance training methods, elaborating the digital handbook as a one-stop-shop for cybersecurity resources, and translating the handbook into 10 EU languages for broader accessibility. This WP aims to promote knowledge sharing and improve the European cybersecurity ecosystem by ensuring that stakeholders across the EU can access valuable training resources.
WP7, led by ABCORP, aims to refine and exploit the CyberPro Train model. Its primary objectives include establishing synergies with existing cybersecurity programs, developing standardized guidelines and operating procedures based on best practices from participating countries, and creating a comprehensive business plan for the model’s sustainability and replication.
The activities involved encompass three key tasks: identifying and formalizing collaborations through memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with other EU initiatives, crafting guidelines to ensure uniformity and adaptability in training, and implementing a detailed business plan that outlines market strategies, revenue models, and responsibilities for ongoing exploitation of the CyberPro Train framework.
WP8, led by Innovation Hive, spans for the whole project duration and beyond, and focuses on the communication and dissemination of project outcomes. The primary objectives include developing a detailed Dissemination and Communication Plan that outlines internal and external strategies to engage target audiences effectively. Key activities involve establishing the project’s visual identity and creating various communication materials such as a project website, social media channels, newsletters, and promotional items.
The plan will also feature regular updates, press releases, and success stories to enhance public visibility in national and European media. Additionally, WP8 aims to facilitate networking opportunities by organizing participation in relevant events and coordinating with other work packages, ensuring that CyberPro Train effectively shares its results and builds strong connections within the cybersecurity community.
